I kind of started relying on my twitter for my news stuff. >_____>
At the time of this news post, I am listening to The Gourd's cover of a Snoop Dogg song, "Gin and Juice." God damn this song is cool, too bad it's become an albatross for the band.
So, down to business, the Cave is a new project for us, obviously. I wanted to try a shot at an actual story, hopefully one you will enjoy. I've gotten quite a bit of good feedback on it so far myself, but as always you can feel free to email me at mrpulsar(at)gmail.com and tell me what you think.
In the world of gaming, I am competing in World Cyber Games this year, as I think I might have mentioned in the past. I'm also trying to make it a goal of mine to catch up on games I haven't beaten, which unfortunately is quite a list now. Okami, Final Fantasy XII, Mass Effect, and Metal Gear Solid IV just to name a few. The shitty part is I lost my memory card when I moved to Seattle that had all my RPG saves for the PS2, so Okami and FFXII need to be restarted.
One thing I never mentioned in the past and I know my partner in crime has a much different opinion on it than I do, is the Left4Dead 2 Boycott. I figured since now things have died down a little bit and my roommate and I have debated it for awhile I'll say this:
The additions they want to make seems a bit hard to incorporate from patches alone. One of the biggest complaints seems to be the lack of content. There being only four levels and one survival exclusive level, I can see why people would get all worked up over this announcement. But take this in to consideration, compared to many games for the same price it has probably more content. Fighting games are a perfect example, 10 characters, shitty story modes, and an online mode. That to me doesn't seem worth $60 does it? Wrong, I have been playing the hell out of BlazBlue recently and love it.
So the question comes down to this. Was Left4Dead worth your $50-60? If not, then don't buy the new one, it's that simple. Valve is not the first to promise content that never appears. Especially when it's free content they promise. They've already done so much for their other games. The TF2 class updates, and all the tools they've made available for people to make their own content for these games.
So really, complaining about the cost of this I don't believe is really a valid argument, you either got your worth or didn't. I think complaining that animators, programmers, and developers who need to eat/sleep like we do are trying to make money off something they promised for free is kind of selfish.

Lots of my mental capacity has gone to the summer project.
Last two weeks. Over a week behind schedule.
So comics should resume next month.

About this Cave thing:
I currently treat it as a big experiment. I'm playing around with a style and testing few things. I don't exactly know if the whole thing has been written all the way through but that's not really important.
We're basically learning to work well together with Austin. We have had a few bigger comics in the works for a longer time, but somehow those never seem to get off the ground. Hopefully we learn things from this cave thing and finally get those other things started later in the year.
